Scandals and Animals

Here lately I have been watching a lot of Seinfeld...which, in my opinion, is one of the funniest shows...period. If you don't watch it..I am definately promoting it right now. haha. Anyways, the title of my blog today comes from an episode I watched a few nights ago...where Kramer sets up the set of the Merv Griffin Talk Show in his apartment...just too funny!

About two weekends ago the College and Career sunday school class got together for our Christmas party! We all had a real good time hanging out and playing the dirty santa game with gag gifts. Some of the gag gifts ranged from gummy candy to racoon urine (i know, gross) to exlax! hahaha

And then this past weekend me and my good friends Kelli, Allen, Stephanie, Thomas and Kalon got together Sunday night for a Christmas dinner after church! We had homemade subs..which were great! We also watched a Christmas episode of Friends..they were all surprised because i informed them that I have never actually sat down and watched a full episode of the show...therefore we watched one.

We are all leaving on Saturday for Winter Extreme! We will be going to Gatlinburg, a place i love, and I will get to spend 3 days with some of the most awesome people I know...the Overflow Youth Group!!! I love everyone in the youth group..so if you are reading this....I LOVE YOU! You guys are awesome!! :)

I know this blog was kind of random...but I wasnt really sure what else to talk about, and it had been a while since my last blog...so until next time...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

And so the lion fell in love with the lamb....

Awww....thats probably my favorite line from the entire Twilight novel. Okay...I know that my last blog was entirely about the book...but last night I went to see the movie with Jessica and Erica! It was awesome! I am so impressed with how good the movie was, even though of course the book was better. And once more I must say that Mr. Robert Pattinson is making it very hard for other guys to compete! Haha...I'm only kidding. It's funny but I actually thought I had outgrown the whole teenybopper -"OMG he's so hot!" phase...guess not :) I have started reading New Moon (The 2nd in the series) and I'll surely keep you posted on how its going! :)

Other than that...I had my wisdom teeth cut out last Monday, and I have done really well with that, surprisingly. I am a huge baby...and I figured it would be the worse thing ever..but it wasnt! My mouth didn't even swell or anything. I really handled it like a champ if I do say so myself!

School is quickly coming to an end...for this semester! I have told a few people..but not too many..but I have decided to keep on going with my education! I have been praying about it and I feel as though God is leading me down a completely different career path..one that I honestly feel called to do..and that is teach. I LOVE kids! I have always loved kids and I feel as though God has blessed me with the patience and love for them, and that I need to use that gift! I will still be getting my associates degree in administrative office...I finish next week! But I will continue at Tri-County until I get all of my general edu classes finished..then it looks like I will be attending Anderson University! :) I am so happy about my decision, but I do appreciate all of your prayers..because I know its not going to be easy!

Well...thats about all I got for this one..until next time...

Hottie Vampires and Such....

Yes, I will admit it... I read Twilight in two sittings (its a 500 page book)...and I LOVED it! I bought the book just to see what the big deal was....everytime i turned around I was reading or seeing something about it online or t.v. or wherever...so I decided to read it and see for myself. It was reallly reallly good! I was actually impressed by how it was written...it kept me turning page after page, Needless to say I was hooked! Its a love story, and it just so happens that the main guy character is a vampire...who falls in love....with a human. I know it may sound dumb (I was one of the skeptics too!) but it is actually a great book!

I finished the book last night, and my mama is going to buy the second one for me tomorrow to read while I am stuck at home this week( I am having my wisdom teeth cut out tomorrow morning). As long as I am feeling better this comign weekend I plan on going to see the movie too!

And, did I mention that the actor who plays Edward's part is a total hottie!? Yes, I just used the term hottie. He has a Johnny Depp thing going for him, which i love!

I'll leave you with a picture of him to admire :)

Election Day.

Yesterday was my first time voting in an election! I have to say, I was very proud of my right as an American to have the priviledge and the right to vote! I am not one to talk much about politics, not because I don't have an opinion, but because it is just one of the main things that will cause an uproar!

However, I hesitate blogging about politics because I know that people do get offended, but at the same time, its just my opinion, so dont take it too seriously people.

I am very dissappointed that John McCain did not win this Presidential election...as a Christian, I feel the republican party coinsides more with my morals and beliefs...which is why I chose to vote for John McCain. But as an American, I will support and pray for our new president regardless of the way I voted.

I think the reason most people voted for Barack Obama is because he is promising "Change". What people need to understand and know is that Barack Obama is not going to "change" anything by himself. If Americans would put their hope and faith in GOD and not in Obama, or McCain, or President Bush, or whoever...they would see a change bigger and better than anything that any politician promises!

It is my prayer that God will bless our country, and lead us and guide us in the right path.

Happy Halloween!!!

It's Halloween!!! Some people have a problem with Halloween, and I even know of some familes who do not even recognize Halloween as an event! I on the other hand, LOVE IT! I love to dress up(if you've seen the HSM pics then you already knew that!), I also love to give out candy to all the little kids and see their cute costumes! I would almost say that Halloween ranks as one of my favorite days of the year....and no i am not a demonic Satanist! I also enjoy the whole being scared thing...it is kind of hard to explain I guess, and some of you probably think I'm alittle weird, but thats okay too! Anyways, in honor of Halloween, I am going to list my Top 5 Favorite Halloween/Scary movies :)

5. Jeepers Creepers. Now, honestly, after seeing this movie a few times it gets kind of silly..but theres something about that song...Jeepers Creepers...whered you get those peepers...definately freaks me out alittle bit!

4. Amityville Horror. I dont usually do the whole demonic possession thing in movies, however, this movie is a classic. It's a different kind of scary...

3. Psycho. You can NOT have Halloween without Norman Bates! I am definately talking about the original film here, NOT the remake! If you have not seen this movie, I definately recommend it! Face it, old black and white movies are definately creepy!

2. Scream. The first time i watched this movie was in the 5th grade...a little young, yes i know. However, the plot of the movie is not what scares me..its the mask. There is something about the Scream mask that gets to me...

AND NUMBER ONE IS....

1. HALLOWEEN! Theres not much I can say about this one other than its a CLASSIC! Michael Myers is the scariest, creepiest killer of all time..end of story.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween! :)

So What?!? I'm still a Rockstar!

WOW! This week has FLOWN by!! It seems like all of the anticipation for last nights surprise at the Pumpkin Party just came and went so quickly! We all had such a blast planning our outfits and getting all dressed up and ready for our big night! I guess those of you who haven't heard would like to know what we did!?! Allen, Kelli, Stephanie, Thomas, Kalon and I all dressed up as the cast from High School Musical! It seemed appropriate in honor of the 3rd movie opening up tomorrow! Which, by the way, we are all going to see tomorrow! :) But, we had so much fun with dressing up, and if you know Allen, he does NOTHING half way...he's just alittle OCD..and he knows i pick at him for it and is okay with that :) I may have a somewhat biased opinion, but i think we looked great! I have a couple pics that someone took of us....although they arent the best quality. I am waiting for our others to get posted on facebook!

And yes, the camera really does add 10 pounds! Believe it or not, I have actually lost weight, and I still look huge in this pic! ha! But anyways, that sums up our High School Musical extravaganza! :)

Doing homework, on a FRIDAY NIGHT!?!

I am sitting in my room working on a project for my Administrative Procedures class...on a FRIDAY night?!? I really am not a lame person, but tonight was really the only night that I could take the time to get some work done. I have been alittle behind in my classes since I have had to miss a few days this semester..so it really was something that needed to be done.

I have a lot of things to look forward too in the next few weeks! Here is my list...

1. Church on Sunday. I absolutely LOVE my church! I love hearing Preacher Steve preach and teach God's word. I also LOVE going to Sunday School for the fellowship and teaching of God's word there also. It definately starts the week off right! :)

2. The Pumpkin Party. Need I say more??? Me and some friends have a *GrEaT* surprise planned for the youth group! Thats really all I can say about that subject... ;)

3. TOBYMAC!!! I am so excited to be going to see tobyMac with Jeff and Sarah Ellen! If you know me, you know my love for the mac! ;) I can't wait to get down and worship Jesus at that concert!!

4. Judgment House. This starts on October 29th-Nov. 1st. I encourage EVERYone to come out and walk through Covenant's Judgment House. These really are life changing experiences if you let God work and speak to you through them. I know this personally because I found Jesus through a Judgment house about 6 years ago. The best decision I have EVER made!! :)

I will keep everyone up-to-date on everything as these events happen! Be on the lookout for what goes down with the BiG SuRpRiSe coming up at the Pumpkin Party!! ;)

My Light, My Strength, My Song

In Christ Alone
By Keith Getty and Stewart Townsend

In Christ alone my hope is found;He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay,Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,Up from the grave He rose again!

And as He stands in victory,Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death—This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,Can ever pluck me from His hand;

Till He returns or calls me home—Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

I wish that I could take credit for those awesome lyrics! That song is one of my absolute favorites because it is an awesome picture of Christ's love for us!

I think that the reason most people have the problems that they do, it's because they forget to make God their everything...and I know that even for me, it is hard to do that sometimes..especially when we are wanting something to happen and to we take it upon ourselves to move things along..when in reality we should let God be our everything and trust in HIM to lead us.

So, this is my challenge. It is a challenge to myself as well as whoever reads this blog....let God be in y our life...let him be your light, your strength, your song. Let him do for you what he wants to. By not doing that, we are only cheating ourselves from the wonderful things he wants for us!

Getting There...

Okay, so I have been working some more on my blog...and I have finally figured out how to include all of my friends names at the side of my page! Thats a big accomplishment for me! :) No, but seriously, I began thinking that this was probably the last thing I needed to do because I already spend entirely too much time on Facebook....ha! :)

Right now I am sitting at school, waiting on time for class to start(I have a Thurs. night class) and time could not possibly be moving any slower! I am so ready to get home and watch the Tigers play!! Tonight is a really big game...we just have to beat Wake Forest!! I am really disappointed with this season so far...but I still love my Tigers(sorry Kelli..no conversion to the Dawgs yet!)!!

Okay, and one more thing on my mind right now..I absolutely love fall!!! The past few days have been absolutely gorgeous(even with the rain) and I love it!!! I love football, the leaves changing colors, the cooler weather-absoultely everything about Fall! I have so many fall scented candles and plug-ins in my room...its just wonderful!

Alright, well thats enough randomness for one blog! Until next time......GOOOO TIGERS!!!

First Timer!

Yay! My first blogging experience! I have been reading some friend's blogs...and I decided that it was time for me to start blogging. This way they all can know alittle bit more about whats going on in my life and I think it will also be a good way for me to vent about things and share what all great and wonderful things God is doing in my life.

However, I am definately not as experienced at this as some of my friends are, but I am sure that the more I practice, the better I will become. With the experience... the more enjoyable my blogs will become for you all to read!

But for now, I must be going and try to figure out what all I needs to be done to make this work!
